Decadence McQueenesque Skulls
Choose between two ornate Alexander McQueen inspired decorative skulls, cast in Herculite plaster and decorated with fabric, crystals, flowers and butterflies! A definitive Horn of Plenty when it came to detail, McQueen was certainly that and the skulls represent my homage to the designer.
Each skull is cast in herculite, a high strength of plaster, sealed, painted with acrylics and varnished.
Skull weighs approx over 1kg in weight
Dimensions 15cm x11cm x 11.5cm
*PLEASE NOTE - each skull is cast and handmade individually to order, please allow at least 2 weeks for delivery to allow the plaster to fully dry out. This is essential before the skulls are sealed and decorated.
MACQUEEN - the epoch of heritage, the clan of Macqueen were numerous around the islands of Skye and Lewis. They had originally come to Scotland along with the Norseman who had occupied the Hebrides in the ninth and tenth centuries. The skull is decorated modern Macqueen tartan in homespun wool, edged with gold braiding and decorated with butterflies, a red rose and black lace applique.
MONARCH - the beautiful monarch butterfly, migrating yearly almost 3000 miles from the States to Mexico to hibernate for the winter, with its spectacular orange and black hues are one of my favourite marvels of nature. Taking inspiration from milliner Philip Treacy's collaboration with McQueen for many of his shows, these beauties sit atop a grey metallic skull and decorated with pyramid iridescent crystals.
